
Scott grew up in Gurnee and graduated from Carmel Catholic High School in 1988. He attended Creighton University where he was a 3-time All-Conference Player, and he was named the 1991 Conference Player of the Year as well as the 1991 ABCA Division 1 College Player of the Year. His '91 Creighton University team played in the College World Series and finished in 3rd place. Scott was the 27th overall pick in the 1991 Major League Baseball Draft.
Scott played at the Major League level for the Minnesota Twins for 5 years during the 1993 and '95 - '98 seasons. After Scott retired from professional baseball, he became the hitting coach for the University of Illinois at Chicago (from 2003 - '05). During his time at UIC, the team was ranked nationally in the Top 15 in Batting Average. Scott has been teaching baseball for years and his Major League experience makes him a great addition to the Slammers Coaching Staff.
