A 2012 graduate of Stevenson High School, Adam was a 2 time all North Suburban conference award honoree. Adam went on to play 4 years for the University of Illinois, becoming a 3 year starter at Shortstop for the Illini. In 2015 at Illinois, Adam was the starting SS and leadoff hitter for all 61 games of the Illini school record 50 win season where they captured the Big Ten Championship, reached the school's first ever Super Regional, were ranked a program best #2 in the Country and had a nation best 27 game winning streak. During his Illinois career Adam was named a Louisville Slugger Freshmen All American at SS in 2014, an All Big Ten 2nd team at SS in 2014, and an All Big Ten 1st Team award at SS in 2015.

In 2015, Adam was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 20th round of the Major League Baseball Draft. After turning down the Orioles offer so he could finish his degree at Illinois, he signed a Minor League Free Agent Contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks after the 2016 season where he is currently playing in their minor league farm system.

Off the field, Adam received a degree from the University of Illinois in Sport Management. As well he was on the All Big Ten Academic Team 3X during his Illinois career.
