Masashi Sakamoto
Baseball Coach

Sashi is originally from Dublin, Ohio where he played for Jerome High School. Posted a 9-3 record and a 2.14 ERA over 55.2 innings with 50 strikeouts as a senior while batting .321 with nine doubles, one homer and 14 RBI. He was named to first team All-Ohio Capital Conference and was an all-district honorable mention as a Junior. Earned first team All-OCC and second team all-district in the following year.

Attended the University of Akron for the first two years of my college career where he made 20 appearances out of the bullpen for the Zips in the freshman campaign. Owned a team-best 1.91 ERA, allowing seven earned runs over 33 innings pitched and ended the season with a record of 3-2 with one save and held opponents to a .243 batting average. Later went on to play for the University of Dayton after the termination of Akron’s baseball program, recorded 50 appearances over 3 seasons. Arm injuries cut his playing career short, but he is "hoping to give back to the greatest game by impacting future ball players like a lot of my coaches did when I was their age". Please contact
